'One-stop shop' for patients and families in one of Perth's fastest growing communities
Edith Cowan University (ECU) with the Australian and WA Governments have officially launched the ECU Health Centre Yanchep East, offering a range of primary care, allied health, and mental health services.

"We are delighted to offer this one-stop shop for patients and families in Yanchep and the rapidly growing surrounding areas," ECU Executive Dean, School of Medical and Health Sciences, Professor Moira Sim said.
"As Yanchep continues to flourish, access to affordable health services will become even more vital in the next five to 10 years."

Ability WA is the first service provider confirmed to commence operating out of the new Yanchep facility from August, and in 2025 the ECU Psychological Services Centre and Counselling Service will get underway.
"ECU is also thrilled to offer clinical training and research opportunities for our students and staff, contributing to the development of the future health workforce," Professor Sim added.
Yanchep and surrounding suburbs are amongst the fastest-growing urban corridors in Western Australia.
Overall, the suburban corridor from Eglington to Two Rocks is facing population growth of more than 400% by 2046.
Last month the Cook Government delivered on its METRONET Yanchep Rail Extension Project, officially opening to commuters the 14.5 kilometres of new rail from Butler north to Yanchep, helping support ongoing growth in the area, reducing traffic congestion, and creating around 1,370 jobs.
Western Australian Minister for Health and Mental Health, the Hon. Amber-Jade Sanderson MLA said the health centre will provide a range of healthcare services to a growing region.
"The Cook Government's $8.1 million contribution to this facility will provide community-based care options within the Yanchep town centre."
The Yanchep community experiences a range of health issues which include high rates of chronic disease, emergency department presentations, potentially preventable hospitalisations, and mental health issues.
The ECU Health Centre Yanchep East seeks to address these issues by providing integrated and multidisciplinary health facilities to help prevent, manage, and treat health issues and their underlying causes.
Australian Minister for Health and Aged Care, the Hon. Mark Butler MP said the health centre reflects our Government's support for multidisciplinary care.
"This facility will put local patients at the centre of a new model of primary health care. A model that will meet the needs of the Yanchep community today and into the future.
"The Albanese Government's $10.4 million investment is part of our reforms to strengthen Medicare and support better outcomes, particularly for people with chronic health conditions."
The ECU Health Centre is the culmination of many years of advocacy led by ECU Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures) Professor Cobie Rudd with the support of local, State, and Commonwealth governments, as well as private partners and community consultation.
Disability and support services for Yanchep
Ability WA CEO Jacquie Thomson said, "Ability WA has been empowering Western Australians to realise their abilities for over 70 years, our newest hub in Yanchep is helping to make that happen.
"We are thrilled to be expanding our services to reach into the developing and vibrant community of Yanchep where we will be providing access to a full suite of disability supports and services. Our offering will include specialist therapy, home and living, community participation, assistive technology and disability employment services."
How to get to ECU Health Centre Yanchep East
There are two co-located sites in central Yanchep, on Yanchep Beach Road between Booderee Road and Kakadu Road, with road access from Ikara Lane. The sites are located within walking distance of the Yanchep Central shopping centre, with accessible public transport routes.
The second building, ECU Health Centre West, is anticipated to commence operations in mid-2026. Leasing opportunities may be suited to specialist services, sonography, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services, child and maternal health, community health and wellbeing, and other social services.
